Moai totems

The moai, or stone giants of Easter Island, are statues that archaeologists believe were carved, transported, and erected between 1400 and 1600 AD. The moai are believed to represent the spirits of ancestors, chiefs, or other high-ranking males, and may also hold a sacred role in the life of the Rapa Nui. The moai are located along the coast, with a concentration on Easter Island's southeast coast.Easter Island Totems
